- Simultaneously press and hold the power button + volume up button + home key until the Samsung logo appears, then release only the power button. Release the volume up buttonand home key when the recovery screen appears.
- From the Android system recovery screen, select wipe data/factory reset.
Utilize the volume up/down keys to highlight and the power button to select.
- Select Yes -- delete all user data.
Allow several seconds for the factory data reset to complete.
- Select reboot system now.
Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete
- Tap “Menu” from the home screen.
- 2Tap on “Settings.”
- 3Select “Back up and reset.”
- By default, your device will automatically backup and restore all your data. If you do not want your personal data backed up and restored following the reset, tap on each corresponding option to clear the check box.
- 4Tap on “Factory data reset.”
- 5Tap on “Reset device.”
- If you have the screen lock feature enabled on your device, you will be prompted to enter your password or PIN code before you can continue.
- 6Select “Delete all.” Your phone will then reset by wiping all data and rebooting[1].
- 1Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S3.
- 2Press and hold down the “Power” button, “Home” button, and the “Volume Up” button.
- 3Wait for your phone to vibrate, then release only the “Power” button.
- 4Wait for the Android System Recovery screen to appear, then release the “Home” and “Volume Up” keys.
- 5Press the “Volume Down” button until the “Wipe data / factory reset” option is highlighted.
- 6Press the “Power” key to select the option.
- 7Press the “Volume Down” button until “Delete all user data” is highlighted.
- 8Press the “Power” button once again to select the option. Your phone will then perform the reset process and display “Reboot system now” when complete.
- 9Press the “Power” key to select the reboot option and complete the master reset.
